Chemical engineering is a professional engineering discipline that uses principles of chemistry, physics, mathematics, biology, and economics to efficiently use, produce, design, transport and transform energy and materials. The work of chemical engineers can range from the utilization of nano-technology and nano-materials in the laboratory to large-scale industrial processes that convert chemicals, raw materials, living cells, microorganisms, and energy into useful forms and products. The department is supported by well qualified, experienced teaching staff from various streams of Chemical Engineering like safety and hazard assessments, process design and analysis, modeling, control engineering, chemical reaction engineering, nuclear engineering, biological engineering, construction specification, and operating instructions.

The department of Chemical Engineering was started in the year 1997 with an intake of 40 students. The Institution has a separate block used for Chemical Engineering Department with spacious classrooms and laboratories.
