The Department of Information Technology (IT) is a centre of excellence facilitating opportunities for innovation and research with enhanced computing facilities with the provision of in-depth technical knowledge. The department’s mission is to create and provide a positive and professional learning environment to master the fundamental principles of computing and extensive problem solving skills to build the intellectual capital of the society. The IT Department aspires to be an leading resource center for the development of Computing and its technical applications. The department is corroborating the technical growth on opportunity creation and its recognition through excellence.
B.Tech. (Information Technology): UG
The B.Tech. in IT is a broad and flexible degree program with the curriculum specifically designed to reflect the depth and breadth of computer science and information technology. It is the study of various aspects of computer to meet the requirements of the various industries and society. The course contains distinguished techniques for processing, the application of statistical and mathematical methods to decision-making, and the simulation of higher-order thinking through computer programs. The course encompasses other information distribution technologies such as television and telephones. It includes study of the basic computer sciences and its application, as well as the detailed study of the various aspects of its working. Expert members from Academia and Industry provide inputs in introducing specialized courses in the curriculum to suit industry needs. The four-year course that lead to a degree in Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.), adopt a University-mandated semester system of 8 semesters.

Program Educational Objectives
PEO1: To render best platform for adequate training and opportunities to work as teams on projects with effective communication skills and leadership qualities and understand professional ethics, social awareness and organizational context in which their engineering skills are utilized.
PEO2: To endow the students with sound knowledge in the field of mathematics, basic science and engineering fundamentals to solve and inculcate the ability to utilize their skills to prepare them for higher studies, research and analyze engineering problems.
PEO3: To extend an ability to analyze the need of the society by providing innovative solutions, leading to their personal cum professional growth as an entrepreneur.

PO1: Engineering Knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
PO2: Problem Analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
PO3: Design / Development of Solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
PO4: Conduct Investigations of Complex Problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of e g experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
