Why to Study CSE ?

The Department was established in the academic year 1997-98 with an annual intake of 40. The intake was increased to 60 in the academic year 1999, subsequently to 90 in 2001. Afterwards, the intake was increased to 120 in 2006. The Department is accredited by NBA (National Board of Accreditation, AICTE, Delhi). The department intake was increased to 180 from the academic year 2011-2012. Seventeen batches of students have graduated so far. The Department is also offering M.Tech course in Computer Science & Engineering

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) is a centre of excellence providing in-depth technical knowledge and opportunities for innovation and research with up-to-date computing facilities. The department’s mission is to provide a positive and professional learning environment to master the fundamental principles of computing and problem solving skills to build the intellectual capital of the society. The CSE Department Endeavour’s to be an important resource center for the development of Computing and its applications. The department is witnessing a period of exciting growth and opportunity propelled by the growth of technology and its recognition through excellence.

B.Tech. (Computer Science & Engineering): UG

The B.Tech. in CSE is a broad and flexible degree program with the curriculum specifically designed to reflect the depth and breadth of computer science. It includes study of various aspects of computer to meet the requirements of the various industries. The course contains study of the basic computer sciences and its application, as well as the detailed study of the various aspects of its working. Expert members from Academia and Industry provide inputs in introducing specialized courses in the curriculum to suit industry needs. The four-year course that lead to a degree in Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.), adopt a University-mandated semester system of 8 semesters.

The postgraduate program prepares scholars to become leaders in knowledge-driven professions by providing a learning environment strongly focused on collaborative, interdisciplinary research. The programme includes courses covering the core of Computer Science and Engineering discipline and several electives in the latest areas of developments in the field of Computer Science. Students learn to reach across traditional academic boundaries, to seek the knowledge and resources needed to solve important technological problems. The educational experience helps students choose from a number of challenging paths to reach their goal of a degree in a particular discipline.The two-year course that lead to a degree in Master of Technology (M.Tech), adopt a University-mandated semester system of 4 semesters.

Program Educational Objectives

PEO1: To render best platform for adequate training and opportunities to work as teams on projects with effective communication skills and leadership qualities and understand professional ethics, social awareness and organizational context in which their engineering skills are utilized.

PEO2: To endow the students with sound knowledge in the field of mathematics, basic science and engineering fundamentals to solve and inculcate the ability to utilize their skills to prepare them for higher studies, research and analyze engineering problems.

PEO3: To extend an ability to analyze the need of the society by providing innovative solutions, leading to their personal cum professional growth as an entrepreneur.

Program Outcomes (POs)

PO1: Engineering Knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

PO2: Problem Analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

PO3: Design / Development of Solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

The Departmental Student Club named as Association of Students of Computer Science and Engineering (ASCE) founded on 15th September 2006 taking all the students of CSE Branch.
